About this pick

Over 100 New Yorkers are coming together to create a live album in Central Park is one of our hand-picked Events finds for New York. You can catch Public Works' Public Record for free this Labor Day Weekend at the Delacorte Theater.

Why New York? New York is the ultimate dense, 24-hour city — five boroughs of iconic skyline, world culture and neighborhood-deep diversity. The city is known for the skyline and Times Square, Broadway, museums and global food.

Good to know: Spring and autumn are ideal; December dazzles for holidays; summer is hot and humid. The 24-hour subway is the fastest way around; Manhattan and much of Brooklyn are very walkable.
